Harvest Bedroom?
Pumpkin Harvest Kisses & Autumn Fall Wishes For The Bedroom!
OK, that may sound a bit corny..
OK, it does sound a lot corny…
But I can remember a time when my mother and both grandmothers styled their bedrooms…..
…….and unless the bedspread was un-mendable or discolored from too many washes, the bedroom “decor” never changed.
I know!
How can that be?
Didn’t they care that the seasons had come and gone and they had on that same blue chenille bedspread that they got on sale at J.C. Penny’s ten years before?
Hmmmmm….Pumpkin or Harvest Bedroom decor?
Perhaps they added a blanket on the end of the bed, but it certainly was not for aesthetics…it was for warmth and no one cared that it was red, purple, or brown.
It was a blanket for heaven’s sake.
Fast forward to the present time.
Hello 2018!
I am sure my grandmother would say to me if she were alive today…‘why do you add throw pillows to your bed’?
‘Do you need them to sleep better and where did you find one with blue pumpkins on it’?
‘Don’t ya know pumpkins are orange‘?
Or she might say,…….
………………‘If you need to change out your comforter, I have an old yellow quilt in the bottom of my closet you can use’.
Never mind that my room color might be lavender.
Yep!
Times have changed, haven’t they?
Or at least in the Midwest where I grew up, Decor was one of ‘them there fancy words’ for furniture.
Ok, we weren’t called hillbillies, but we could have been because there wasn’t money to buy frivolous things like new lamps or throw rugs.
You used what was handed down from a relative or friend and you were thankful to receive it.
I am sure many would gasp in horror at not being able to change out their decor with the seasons or if all of a sudden Home Goods or William Sonoma closed their doors.
I am smiling as I write this my dear readers, because I am one of you….I am just saying that it hasn’t been that long ago that housewives worried more about what to make for dinner, than what to put on the beds as the season’s changed.
So having said all that, I changed my Summer pillows, etc to Fall blue pumpkins.
I thought I would share them with you, not for any reason, but because I can.
Oh, and you might be asking what did the sunset picture have to do with decorating a bedroom with Harvest Bedroom Decor or Pumpkin Harvest Kisses & Autumn Fall Wishes?
Ahhhh, Nothing!
I just thought a sunset picture was kinda romantic and the colors of Harvest Bedroom decor.
Have you put seasonal decor in your master bedroom?
Share please, I would love to hear about it.
Have a great and Blessed Day!

Lol, my husband and your grandmother would’ve gotten along very well. Mr. P. is all about decluttered, in fact, void decor. So it’s no surprise then that our bedroom rarely changes. That and his office are the two rooms he has veto power in. But I do use throw pillows on the bed – they make good lap desks for reading.
Your bedroom blues are anything but blue – very dreamy. Looks great.

Thanks Rita…I like to use the pillows as lap desks too…great minds think alike as they say. The Captain has veto power in his office too, sometimes I just want to shut the door and not look in as I walk by. He is so organized in so many areas….but his desk. I think he thinks his handwriting and his desk should resemble each other. I can’t understand or read either. LOL Thanks for stopping by.
