Is it a beautiful day where you are?
I sure hope so…
It is a pretty Sunday here in our neck of the woods.
This week is Thanksgiving and I have lots to be thankful.
Nothing is perfect, a dear friend is ill, another had travel plans cancelled at the last minute, our Pastor is hobbling around with a foot boot, there is a leak in our waterfall and possibly the pool…but there are many more things to be thankful for and I like to focus on them.
I am looking forward to sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with friends and family.
I would also like to share a few photos starting with this obvious sense of humor from someone at one of the city’s Hurricane Irma debris dumping lots.
I was driving down Skyline and saw this scene on a huge “mulched debris” pile at the dumping lot. I had to laugh because there was furniture and other tossed stuff all around this cool cat. Evidently, the stuffed animal and pink convertible were trashed and the palm frond added to the illusion of a great time in paradise. 🙂
Earlier this week, my favorite college basketball team, the Kansas Jayhawks won against an arch-rival, the Kentucky Wildcats. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
However, my favorite football team, the Kansas City Chiefs lost to one of the bottom teams, the NY Giants today.
Sports aside….
And this beautiful cardinal visited me in my Secret Garden and I got such pleasure watching him fluff and bathe himself.
These white ibis visit our neighborhood almost daily as they search for insects in the lawns. I just love to watch them.
The simple things are sooooo cool.
There is so much to be thankful for my friends.
I will be posting my Thanksgiving menu later…just in case you are interested.
Until then…Have a Blessed day!
Please comment, I'd love to hear from you.
