My friends…..Today was my day to pamper myself.
I don’t often take that luxury as there is always something to do, places to go and people to see.
Raise your hand if you can relate.
Yes, I see you …
and you…
and you.
Well, let me tell you about my “pamper” day.
I jumped out of bed in anticipation of visiting the local Farmer’s Market, which is always a special delight for me.
The outdoor market is packed full of fresh flowers, radishes and strawberries that look like they have been on steroids and plenty of fresh corn and tomatoes.
As I poured my cup of hot green tea, I mentally made notes of what I wanted to see and buy in the way of fresh fruits and vegetables.
I finished my private time on the Lanai…
and finished my cuppa before feeding Jesse James and promising him a special treat while visiting the doggie bakery at the market stand.
I grabbed my floppy hat, sun glasses and my canvas tote bag and headed out the door.
To add to my “Pamper” day, I decided I would really spoil myself by going to an early breakfast at one of my favorite Mom & Pops!
You know it is the kind of place where everybody knows your name.
You remember that song, from the old sitcom “Cheers”……It goes like this:
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

I love going out for an early morning breakfast.
It is always good to catch-up with what is happening in the lives of the servers and the owners as I sip on a cup of hot steaming coffee, while a hot homemade biscuit oozing with butter and honey sits alongside an order of cheesy eggs and crispy bacon.
Not necessarily something one would have every day but for a “pamper” day…it is perfect.
After the customary hugs and promises of seeing you soon, I headed for the Farmer’s Market.
I was not disappointed as the first stand I saw had the reddest, plumpest, most beautiful tomatoes… that made me want to grab a salt shaker and bite into one right then and there.
But I controlled myself as I payed for my purchase and placed the precious cargo into my canvas tote bag.
The next stop was the homemade bakery stand.
Oh my…the smell was a-Maz-ing!
I couldn’t resist as I bought several loaves of various shapes and sizes and flavors.
YUMMY!!!
I tucked them into my tote and checked out the doggie bakery where I picked up a special treat for Mr. Jesse James.
A promise is a promise, right?
After lingering over the extra-large, Florida sweet onions and colorful bell peppers of red, orange, yellow and green, I placed a few of each in my tote.
I shopped the aisles, admiring the bright yellow lemons and green limes, picking fruits up to hold in my hand and occasionally sniffing for ripeness.
Ohhhh I love the smell of fresh fruit and when I saw what might be perhaps the last of the fresh Georgia peaches…I couldn’t resist.
My head was spinning with the planning of future meals, knowing the Captain would be thrilled when he came home from his weekly trip to the smell of peach pie or apple crisp.
I also picked up a bouquet of sunflowers which always remind me of Kansas along with fresh pumpkins and Indian corn….just because.
Just because it is the Autumn of the year and the October Farmer’s Market is a grand place to be.
I may live in Florida and the 77 degree temperature today is not the 40’s and 50’s of the Midwest…but it is still a special time of the year.
Ahhhhh….what a wonderful morning and I couldn’t wait to get home and unpack my tote bag.
Don’t you just love breakfast out…. and a fresh Farmer’s Market to explore?
Especially in the Autumn!
Have a wonderful day and find a time to pamper yourself with something you love to do.
You deserve it cuz each one of is A-MAZ-ing!
Now I have to give Mr. James his doggie treat….AND I think I will have another cup of green tea as Mr. James and I sit on the lanai savoring the morning, there will be plenty of time for chores later.

So glad you found me again my sweet friend. I have to confess that the photo was a selfie that I took in my car and I used a filter on it because the sunlight was so bright. These grand kids know how to do all those silly things. Grand daughter wanted me to put kitty ears and whiskers from snapchat filter.hahaha! Thanks for stopping by.

Good morning honey. Ah a lovely life you lead my friend.
A farmers market is a rare treat here, although we do have some farm shops but not close enough to regularly support. I laughed at the bread… as I’m a sucker for a specialist bread.. just layered with butter.. yummy… However I was reminded yesterday by a wise daughter that I didn’t really need the bread machine anymore.. after all my mixer has a dough hook and I have an oven… don’t tell her I found 6 cheese graters and two extra slicer machines as I’ve just bought a new one… just because eh!
I wish we had 77 degrees… we are struggling to get into the 60s..
Hugs from across the pond x

I love it….glad to see you and I are alike in more ways than one. Do you remember the boxed bread mixes that were popular with our bread makers? I can’t find them anymore. I managed to fine one white bread mix at Wal-Mart Grocery but no other choices. What are they trying to tell us? lol
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs always my friend.

Sounds like a wonderful day! I wish there was a market like that close to me. I envy your 77 degrees. It’s still high 80’s in Northeast Florida.

Thanks Nancy…I love our Farmer’s Market and even tho the temps are getting cooler in the evening and in the early morning, we are still getting up into the 80’s during mid afternoon. However, we are being told we can sleep with windows open this week. we shall see. thanks for stopping by.
